Mr. Finicum, dead at the hands of our own government yesterday, was not a terrorist despite what dot gov wants us to believe. I hate the handle “occupier.” Lavoy Finicum was a husband of 23 years, father of 11, grandfather of 23.
He was a patriot who stood to be counted where too many others dare not tread.

WHO WAS LAVOY FINICUM?
LaVoy Finicum, 55, of northern Arizona, has been the right-hand man to the occupation’s leader Ammon Bundy since the stand-off began on January 2.
Acting as spokesman for the group, he gave numerous press conferences to communicate their position.
At one point he personally climbed up a pole to dismantle surveillance cameras in an apparent show of defiance against the government.
But he has not always held such a strong anti-government stance.
Last year, he told the St George News that he complied with federal land controls until Cliven Bundy’s stand-off in Nevada in 2014.
The episode, he said, struck a chord with him.
He joined the Bundys and ‘did a lot of soul-searching’ until he ‘realized that Cliven Bundy was standing on a very strong constitutional principle—and yet, here I was continuing to pay a grazing fee to the BLM.’
Finicum’s wife of 23 years recently arrived in Oregon, traveling up from Arizona, to celebrate his 56th birthday.
Beyond life as a militiaman and rancher, Finicum was a father of 11 and grandfather of 23 who also found time to write a novel, Only By Blood And Suffering, about a time when guns are no more, cars have stopped working, the market has imploded, and the Chinese control everything.

Yes, the Clintons/State Dept/HO sold uranium to the Russians – I “think” it was out of Colorado? Damn memory. It was about six months ago we all saw it and reported it.

This on these ranches – not that I put one single thing past them – but again, somewhere in the piece I missed the connecting dots.
That’s why I was asking…I wasn’t sure. And, too, I could easily see Clinton doing something like that without any conscience in doing so.
That woman (Clinton) lost her Soul a very long time ago.
Politics aside, it’s not exactly a smart tactical decision to draw on a group of cops at any traffic stop. It’s sad that anyone ever dies in these events, but it doesn’t make the dead man a patriot, nor the police “gestapo”. To me, this is the inevitable result of armed civil disobedience. I know these guys care about their issues, but if you live by the sword…
Have you seen it reported anywhere thus far that a one of them drew on the cops and/or sheriff’s/FBI?

“All of the people arrested on the Oregon highway surrendered to authorities except for one man, later identified as LaVoy Finicum, a spokesman for the group who had previously said he would rather die than go to jail. Another official familiar with the encounter said Finicum refused to surrender and was fatally shot; authorities said Wednesday they were investigating the shooting.”
I’m sure more details will follow, but that reads like an intentional “suicide by cop” act to me. And of course, I could be misunderstanding it all. I’m waiting for more news as it’s released and investigated.

From what I have heard/read – there is more between the “refused to surrender” and the “was fatally shot” parts.
They stopped at first, were shot at, knew they were going to die, he drove off, hit a snowbank then he got out, hands up and was shot and killed.
I’m waiting for more eye witness reports.
“Suicide by cop” – a man with eleven children? Just my opinion from knowing a whole lot of southerners who have a whole lot of children – no. Doesn’t compute, but again, that is personal opinion/experience.
It does get confusing when the incidents involve people on both sides passionate about their beliefs. Like you, I get some bias from my experience, which is knowing a lot of cops. They are just as devoted to doing their job right. I can’t imagine any of them gunning down a person who’s surrendering.
I don’t know a single policeman/woman. I have had two experiences with police – both were exactly what I expect – complete politeness and openness/reason.

First I will say this is New Mexico and if you have not watched videos of police horror stories there – high rates of deaths by police there – you might consider doing some youtube research.

Yes, there are bad cops too. Typically, it’s being on the take in big cities. And the quality of training matters a lot in regards to when to use weapons, and which weapons.
And hopefully just as much emphasis on when not to use weapons.

In order to have a shoot out, two people have to be engaged in the shooting. In this case, as I understand it, Mr. Finicum had his hands in the air when the gestapo shot him dead.
