When there is heartbreak, it is said that time heals, and yet I and too many others know that not to be true.
We attempt to mend the heart with thread forged of pain and sorrow, but it is a heart now patched and imperfect, unlike what we were born with – never to be the same.
Is it a heart made more strong for our fingers bloodied and sore with our efforts? Some would say yes – others would speak of diminished light.
As a nation, collectively experiencing others heartbreak over, and over, and Lord help us over and over again, the light dims.
When pain and sorrow and bloodied fingers are not enough – what’s next America? It’s time to figure it out.
